Shopping the Facebook Marketplace is a dangerous "hobby" I've found myself devouring lately. This gem popped up in "Today's Picks" and stopped me in my tracks.

A woman in Foxboro, Wisconsin is selling her incredible doll collection and if you buy it, you'll need a bus to haul your haul. The post says that there are 350 to 400 dolls in the collection and she is selling them altogether, the whole collection.

As the photos tell, there is quite an extensive assortment of figurines. Cabbage Patch Dolls, antique dolls, dolls that appear to be Barbies- some even appear to be antique Barbie Dolls. There are sleepy dolls, standing dolls, twin dolls, dolls in highchairs, plastic head dolls, soft dolls, clown dolls, military dolls, dolls in cribs, dolls on shelves, unopened dolls, beautiful dolls, and lots of creepy dolls.

There are dolls adorned in wedding dresses; even a few dolls who are missing their clothing. There are blue-eyed dolls and brown-eyed dolls. There are even dolls who are forever napping. (Lucky dolls!)

I have so many questions! What's the history of the collection? How did this collection begin? What is the oldest doll? Were any of the dolls gifts? How and why did this Wisconsin woman get into doll collecting? Is this collection one for the record books?

In an article from the Guinness Book of World Records, according to toymaker Mattel, there are over 100,000 collectors of Barbie dolls throughout the world. With all the hype surrounding the new Barbie movie, I discovered that the world record holder for the "biggest Barbie collection" is a German woman, Bettina Dorfmann, daughter of American-based toy company founders Elliot and Ruth Handle. Dorfmann received her first doll in 1966 but started her collection much later in 1993. It's grown over the years and by 2011, she reached the world record, holding over 15,000 Barbie dolls.

This collection is shy of setting any world records but it certainly reigns in the creepiest doll collection category.
