Bayport BBQ
This restaurant was located in Bayport, Minnesota. According to the episode, the motto of the small-town bbq joint was "we aren't for everyone". Guy even said, "I'll give you props for doing it your way". The episode featured oak-smoked brisket, topped with coleslaw, and bread-n-butter pickles piled on a hunk of bread.
Dari-Ette Drive-In
This seasonal Italian drive-in was located in St. Paul for more than 50 years. From hand-rolled meatballs to the popular Italiano Sandwich, this was the place to be from April to October.
In the episode, Angela cooks up her family's recipes such as fried sausage, meatballs, and spaghetti with a super secret sauce.
Ganucci's Italian Market
It was located in the heart of West Duluth on Central Avenue in Duluth, Minnesota. Gannucci's was known for their homemade dishes for carryout or dining in, and was even a place to stop to pick up Italian ingredients to make delicious dishes at home.
Featured on the playlist titled 'Old School Joints', the episode showcased Ganucci's famous homemade lasagna and a classic muffuletta sandwich. The episode also showcased a Wisconsin Diner that was for sale.
In 2021 according to FOX 21, Gannucci's owner William Kalligher was charged with sexually assaulting two children.
Marla's Caribbean Cuisine
Serving up Caribbean food based out of Trinidad and Tobago with a deep Indian influence in Minneapolis. Guy could not get over that the delicious Dhalpourie, made with curried chickpeas and potatoes, was vegan.
Marla closed the restaurant in the early summer of 2019. However, she is now running a catering company only.
Pak's Green Corner
Unfortunately, the location where Pak's used to be in Duluth, Minnesota is now a bank, but there will always be memories of Pak and her Thai comfort food. The featured item in this clip was the Thai pad burrito.
Prairie Dogs
You could find this hot dog joint on Lake Street in Minneapolis. Their special dishes were the Jimmy Two Times Sausage & Beef Combo, and the Foietine. They mentioned on social media that the location was "cursed" as many places before them also closed.
The Sheridan Room
Once upon a time, this place in North East Minneapolis was serving up American-style food and craft cocktails.
They stated on social media that they closed due to "personal and professional reasons".
Town Talk Diner
Located in Minneapolis, you could find creative spins on American classics like Mac n' Cheese, BBQ ribs, and more. Featured in this episode was their mac n' cheese and Fried Chicken.
