What Could This Cylinder Spotted Hovering Over Duluth Be?
Maybe there is an explanation for this, but at the moment I'm drawing blanks. Last week I was out fishing on the St. Louis River with a friend when I noticed something strange in the sky. Did anyone else see this?
It happened on Thursday, June 13 at 5:10 PM. We were fishing for walleye in Spirit Lake (which is an area of the St. Louis River).
Dark clouds started to form to the west as a storm approached. The wind picked up and it rained pretty heavy for a few minutes before passing by. We were keeping a close eye on the sky to see if any more weather was coming. That's when I saw this strange object.
Unfortunately, it was pretty far away from us. It looked like it was hanging over the Spirit Valley area of West Duluth.
My buddy saw it too and he was perplexed as well. I took a photo, but it was so far off that it didn't show up the best. At first, I thought it was a cloud, but the other clouds were moving by it and it was just hanging there.
It looked to me like a pill that was positioned vertically. It was motionless which was really bizarre.

At that moment we noticed we had a fish on and worked to get that reeled in and netted. We were not in a line of sight anymore at that point, and when we trolled back the other way the object was gone.
What do you think? I don't have an explanation.
