Heartwarming Duck Rescue Brings Joy To Virginia, Minnesota

This actually might be the best story of the year so far. It's hard not to smile when cute baby ducklings are involved, right? If you're not smiling, I am worried for you.

If you need a smile, you've come to the right place. I came across this story on Thursday (May 14th) and haven't stopped smiling since. It all has to do with a good deed that happened in Virginia.

On Tuesday (May 12th), a city employee noticed a sweet mama duck lingering near a nearby parking lot. This was a little strange and said employee decided to trust her gut and see what was happening.

It turns out that several baby ducklings had fallen through a sewer grate and that is why the mama duck was hovering in the area! That's when everyone sprung into action, resulting in a sweet rescue.

Some pretty cute photos and the full story were shared on the official St. Louis County Facebook page and it is safe to say this might be the cutest thing ever. You can see the mama duck, the two that rescued the ducklings and the family reunited. Awwwww!

A police officer and a city maintenance worker rescued the ducklings once they were alerted to what had happened. Another city employee was also on hand to grab each rescued duckling since more hands were needed.

I truly can't even handle this. Best story ever! City officials say that teamwork made this happen and all of the babies were reunited with their mother. They waddled away as a family, all uninjured and happy.

While I am sad this happened, it just might be the happiest story that's come out in 2026 and is the kind of content we need these days. So sweet. This could be a Disney movie!
