Restaurant Chain Announces Abrupt Closure Of Nearly 40 Locations
This news isn't great. A popular restaurant chain has announced that they are closing locations nationwide. The good news is that they aren't closing every location, but a solid amount across the country.
The company that owns Outback Steakhouse has recently announced plans to shutter locations across the country. Right now, there are six locations in Minnesota. There is also one in Hermantown.

According to USA Today, most of the locations have already been closed and were the older restaurants in the franchise. Our Hermantown location is not impacted by these closures.
However, locations in other parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin may be impacted moving forward as the company shutters the remaining handful of restaurants. You can find these other Outback locations in five other cities:
- Bloomington
- Coon Rapids
- Inver Grove Heights
- Maplewood
- Rochester
Wisconsin is home to four Outback locations, including in the following cities:
- Brookfield
- Greenfield
- Madison
- Onalaska
This isn't a sign of bad things to come, either. The parent company of Outback says they plan to open as many new locations this year. A bloomin' onion sounds pretty good right about now!

Changes within the restaurant industry are commonplace, especially after the pandemic. The same can be said for retailers, who are focusing more on digital sales rather than brick and mortar stores.
