Background Actors Needed For New Movie Filming In Hibbing

And here's another movie filmed in Minnesota to add to the list! It looks like a new feature film will be using our beautiful state as a backdrop soon.

There have been several productions filmed in the state and even right here in the Northland over the past few years, including a few great holiday movies.

Perhaps most recently, a drama thriller filmed in and around the Duluth area late last year. The movie is called Murder at the Lighthouse and it premiered on Lifetime late last month.

Now, another film with some well-known actors is filming on the Iron Range - and you can take part!

The Upper Midwest Film Office shared details of the casting call on Wednesday (March 5th). The production is in need of Hibbing locals to take part in the film, with a few different parts up for grabs.

Those attending the casting call must be local to the Mesabi Range, or at least within thirty miles from Hibbing. The movie will film entirely in Hibbing later this month and into April. All actors must be at least eighteen years old.

The positions are paid but lodging is not provided. You can apply online now by emailing lovsetproduction@gmail.com, with rolling applications accepted until April 10th. The final deadline for applying is March 24th at noon so get to it!

The film will shoot between March 26th through April 24th. The film is seeking two stand ins, along with many background actors. There are no speaking parts and previous experience is a plus, but not required at this time.

So What Is This Movie About?

This film is called Lovset's Manoeuvre and it was penned by Elizabeth Chatelain, a writer and director from Hibbing. The synopsis of the film is as follows:

On the same day she's planning an elaborate graduation party for her daughter Laura, Sandy (54), gets word that her eldest daughter, Jess, has racked up a serious debt to feed her drug addiction. This sends Sandy into a backward spiral of self-destructive codependent behavior that proves to be just as dangerous as her daughter's addiction.
