Minnesota Town Residents Shook By Strange Mystery Boom
Residents in International Falls were startled by a large boom followed by tremors on Tuesday morning. Around 9:00 am, a loud explosion was heard. Windows rattled, and the ground shook in the Northern Minnesota town.
Conspiracy Theories Buzz About The Boom
Social media buzzed for the next few hours as people tried to understand the source of the startling incident. Conspiracy theories flood the web, everything from Government testing, military exercises, earthquakes, and more. Some people thought it could be a meteor or a fireball's sonic boom in the sky. We have seen more fireballs than usual in recent months.
Noises were also reported in the International Falls the previous night. Some people questioned the rumbling they heard in the sky. That could be tied to the 148th Air National Guard nighttime training exercises out of Duluth. Night-time flight training took place this week by the 148th across Northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the UP.

Koochiching County Sheriff's Office Investigates
Emergency Management officials with the Koochiching County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident and have tied the blast to a construction company in Fort Frances, Ontario. The company was blasting rock in their quarry, which was likely the cause of the noise and tremors in Northern Koochiching County, Minnesota. Fort Frances is directly across the border from International Falls on the other side of the Rainy River.

They've asked the company responsible for the blasting to provide updates about future blasts, so they can be communicated to residents.
