Duluth Police Need Help Identifying Suspect In Recent Armed Robbery

A recent crime took place in Duluth that must've been quite scary for the Kenwood Walgreens employees, located at 1609 Kenwood Avenue.

Police first notified the public of the incident at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16. According to their Facebook post, Duluth Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Kenwood Avenue after receiving a report of a robbery.

Once officers arrived at the scene of the crime, they spoke with Walgreens employees who stated that an individual brandished a firearm and demanded money. The employee gave an undetermined amount of cash to the individual, who then fled the scene on foot.

Duluth Police confirmed that thankfully no one was hurt during the robbery and they were unable to locate the armed thief, who remained unknown and at large They added that they would be reviewing security cameras at the store and that this remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Investigation Update Provided On Friday, January 15

On Friday, the Duluth Police Department utilized social media to provide an update and ask for the public's help as they shared what they discovered on the security cameras at Walgreens.

Below are pictures of the individual who is the suspect in the armed robbery. As you can see, the individual is seen wearing a black face mask, plaid jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and black gloves. While it's mostly covered, you do see a small portion of their face.

Duluth Police would like anyone with any information or who knows who the individual in the photo is, to call their Violent Crimes Unit at (218)-730-5050 and reference ICR# 24007149. You can also submit an anonymous tip by texting the keyword ‘DPDTIP’ and your tip to 847411.
