Animal Allies Facing Emergency – Breaking Protocol To Get Dogs In Homes Fast
Animal Allies shared just two weeks ago that they were at max capacity. They had all of their kennels full and were looking for help. Fortunately some people stepped up for adoptions and found dogs loving homes. However, another emergency has just happened and they are seeking immediate help.
19 dogs were brought to the shelter on Tuesday, August 21
Today they had to assist their St. Louis County contract partner with removing 19 puppies and adult dogs from a local property.
They have dogs sharing kennels at the moment, which is not safe for the dogs or humane, so they've "moved away" from their normal protocol to get the dogs into safe homes as soon as possible.
How can you help?
The dogs need patience and stability. If you are able to foster or foster to adopt a dog, please e-mail nicole@animalallies.net as soon as possible. They will set up a time for you to come in and meet the dogs and they'll help you choose the right fit for your home.
Animal Allies Humane Society will cover all costs until adoption is finalized after the pets are spayed or neutered. This also applies to other longer-term residents who are looking for a home. Some of these dogs have been at the shelter for nearly a year.
You can find Animal Allies online, or visit them at 4006 Airport Road, Duluth, Minnesota Tuesday - Saturday Noon-6, and Sundays 12-4.
