Even though the cost of garbage service continues to skyrocket out of control in Superior, one thing that the city does do well is offering a coordinated spring clean up.  This years efforts start on May 2.

The City of Superior has released the schedule for spring 2016 - with staggered pick-up dates throughout the city May 2 - 27.  Residents are encouraged to do some spring cleaning inside and outside of their homes and leave the trash in the alley next to where they would normally leave their garbage dumpster for pickup.

For reference, here are some items you can't leave at the curb for pickup:

  • Mattresses and box springs.  Instead, these items need to be brought to the landfill for a charge of $10.00 each if clean and dry - $13.00 each if wet or soiled.
  • Building, construction, and demolition materials.  This includes items like lumber, shingles, windows, doors, sheet rock, tile, concrete, etc.  These items can be brought to DLS:  392-1889 or A-A Roll Off: 394-4285.
  • Corrugated cardboard or recyclables.
  • Hazardous liquids.
  • Asbestos containing materials.
  • Motor oil or car batteries.
  • Tires
  • TV's, appliances or computers.
  • Fluorescent bulbs.

The City of Superior Landfill accepts loads Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM to 3:40 PM and Saturday - 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  The phone number at the landfill is 715-398-7222.

Questions about garbage, recycling, and pick up can be directed at the City of Superior Public Works Department:  715-394-0244.
