Irish Hurling Takes Place October 5 Park Point, So What Is Irish Hurling [Video]

You're invited to the Twin Ports Hurling club exhibition on Park Point October 5 at noon. What is Irish Hurling? At first I thought it was a bunch of people drinking green beer getting sick....but it's actually a sport and the twin ports has a team. Who knew?

According to worldirish.com Matt Kearns discovered the sport of hurling when he was in Ireland, and immediately fell in love with the game. In April he decided to set up a hurling club in Duluth. They haven't enough players for a team just yet, but on Saturday October 5th, for the first time in over 80 years.

According to the  Duluth News Tribune, Matt spoke of his interest in the sport, 'I like how it encompasses a little of everything. A little golf, hockey, baseball and lacrosse, which makes it interesting.'

The game itself looks like field hockey, lacrosse, and rugby all in one sport. Here's a preview.
