Human Remains Found On Park Point

My husband and I run in various areas of the City, sometimes near wooded areas, sometimes near Lake Superior and most often on Park Point.  The thought has crossed my mind, what if we were to come across a body or human remains.  I shudder to think that that has happened to someone and my condolences go out to the family of the deceased.

The report was received on Monday, October 10th.  About 4:37 p.m. a call was made to the Duluth Police that there were human remains at the end of Park Point about the area of the 4800 block of Minnesota Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene and located and confirmed the remains of human body. In the authorities investigation it is now believed to be the remains of a previously reported missing person, 53 year old Roger Wayne Swanson.  He was reported missing on August 1st.

According to the Duluth Police Department's press release, their preliminary investigation indicates the death of Mr. Swanson is not suspicious at this time.This incident is still under investigation.
