How Can I Be A Better Cook? Some Tips Toward Better Results In The Kitchen
I cook a lot. People (especially co-workers) tend to come to me for advice on how to make their time in the kitchen a better experience. My tips are pretty basic - but they usually result in an eye roll or two. (Hey - if you don't want to hear the truth, don't ask - right?) I usually start by suggesting that they use the freshest-possible ingredients and never - I mean never - use a box mix; Processed food should be avoided at all costs.
Just today, I encountered another article that offered "Easy Ways To Be A Better Cook". Many of these tips are elementary - but they speak volumes in what it takes to get better results from your recipes.
There is one suggestion that the article offers that I would hedge away from: The Trash Bowl. You don't need one of these. You already have a garbage can, don't you? (And don't get me started on the whole Rachel Ray tangent; Did you know she offers these Garbage Bowls of hers at prices over $30? Save your money. Use your own multi-tasking garbage can!)
