I had the pleasure  of seeing the Yarbirds on a couple occasions..the first in Minneapolis in the mid 60's, and years later introducing them alongside the Animals and Steppenwolf.  Keith Relf was integral in the Yardbirds formation, and it's sound. He brought American Blues to the Brits, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf to name a couple. The Yardbirds were responsible for some of the British Invasions best albums and songs....For your love, Heart full of soul, Train kept a rollin...and many more. Keith died on this day in in 1976, in the damp and wet basement of his home. He electrocuted himself as he plugged his guitar into his amp. The Yardbirds will always be associated with three of the best guitarists in rock n roll...Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, but lets not forget the man that invented the "sound" of the Yardbirds....Keith Relf.
