The Duluth Police Department utilized their Facebook page this week to ask for the public's help identifying a driver involved in an incident last weekend.

Based on the picture featured within their post the man in question would've been easy to spot, since he has a pontoon hanging all kittywampus off the back of his truck. Yes, I used the word kittywampus. That is the first time I've used that slang word while writing anything and now I feel I should use it every single day. Kittywampus!

Anyway, according to the Duluth Police Department:

We are wanting to speak to him in relation to an incident that happened around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 14 near E Superior Street.
If you have any information, please give our Property Crimes Unit a call at (218)-730-5160.

While what exactly happened during the incident in question remains unclear, the comments that followed the Duluth Police Department Facebook post are, naturally, blaming the the notorious Duluth potholes for the plight of this pontoon. Others are suggesting that perhaps the man is in trouble for being in a bike lane. Then there's the question of where the heck is the motor?!

So many questions and, alas, only one blurry photo of a pontoon in distress behind a truck and a man looking like he's out of there.

Hopefully everyone is okay regardless of what happened, especially since pontoons are supposed to fun! They're parties in slow motion for crying out loud!

If you know anything or if you saw anything, please call the Duluth Police Department.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
