Fall is in the air and October is just days away! That means haunted attractions are gearing up for the spookiest month of all. Now, another haunted event has announced they will officially be back for the 2022 season.

Many haunted attractions have already announced their return for the year, with some announcing their return as early as July! In late July, the Haunted Ship announced its return, along with a schedule for the 2022 event.

Shortly after, the Haunted Shack announced its return as well. The haunt, located in Carlton, shared they'd be returning as usual in October. At the time, they also put out a notice that they were looking for volunteers.

Other haunted attractions, like Hellwig Hollow in Canyon, will also be back this year. Hellwig Hollow is one of the newer attractions in the area and describes itself as a "thirty minute walk of terror" so attend at your own risk!

Now, we can officially add the Haunted Forest to the list. The Haunted Forest announced its return in mid-September with a post on their official Facebook page. This will be the ninth year of the attraction.

The attraction takes place in a giant forest, hence the name. You walk through narrow passages with ghosts, clowns and every other creepy ghoul you can imagine chasing you and popping up as you make your way through the wilderness. (I have gone for the past few years and it always scares me in the best way!)

The Haunted Forest is located in Saginaw, a short drive from Duluth at 7187 Saginaw Road. There are signs along Highway 33, Highway 2 and Highway 194 for parking. It should be noted that the event is family friendly.

The haunt will take place for most weekends in October, including the following:

  • October 7th, 8th and 9th
  • October 14th, 15th and 16th
  • October 21st, 22nd and 23rd
  • October 28th, 29th and 30th

The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night. Tickets are $15 bucks for those ages 13 years and up. Kids 12 years old and younger can get in for $10 bucks. Everyone can get a one dollar discount if they bring a non-perishable food item.

It should also be noted that there will be a few other "bonus" events at the Haunted Forest. On Saturday, October 29th, there will be a special "black out" event for those 13 years of age and older, which is the event with an even scarier twist. This will take place from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

On Sunday, October 30th, you can trick-or-treat on site from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is for kids 12 years old and younger. The best part of the Haunted Forest? Proceeds benefit local charities. See you there!
