Hailey James is only 16, she hasn't been singing long but has impressed many people along the way.

She says she is the only one in her family to pursue music and doesn't really come from a musical family, but a very supportive one.

Hailey started as a weekly featured artist in 2018 at Country Nites Saloon in Hasting, MN at the age of 14 years old. She is a member of the Midwest Country Music Association, the Minnesota Music Coalition, and Songtown. She told me when she was young she was playing the violin while hula hooping, not all the time mind you, but during a variety show. She did the variety show the next year and found she liked the way she felt in front of a crowd and then a few years later decided she was going to be more serious about reaching for the stars.

Hailey told a great story about singing her songs in front of some very influential and successful Nashville songwriters, and she won a mentorship with Marty Dodson who has written songs for artists like Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Plain White T's, Saving Jane, Lonestar, Billy Currington, and Craig Morgan. That lit a fire under her and also inspired a song.

Being so young and creating some good music, I would say Hailey James has a long career ahead.
