Grandma’s Marathon Creats YAF Winter Challenge
With the popular Saturday Morning At The Races being canceled for 2021. Grandma’s Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation came up with a replacement.
The YAF Winter Challenge will be virtual but the whole reason for creating this new program is to replace the at the races series and give kids in the area a reason to stay active even though there isn't an official program in place.
The program is free and for kids 14 and under. The YAF Winter Challenge is in partnership with UMD, St. Scholastica, and UWS, and is based on "Challenge Cards". The cards will have a list of various activities for kids to do. The cards will list indoor and outdoor things to do and will be customized by each college for a couple of weeks.
At the end of the Winter Challenge between February 15 and September 5, kids can turn in their completed Activity Cards at Skyline Social and Games to receive a free 6” personal pizza and $5 arcade card. They have to complete all three rounds with all three colleges.
Kids are encouraged to pick up their Challenge kits between January 4 and January 18 at the locations listed below.
