Grandma’s Cuisine Frozen Pierogies Recall Details

A widespread recall has been issued for a popular brand of frozen pierogies.  Dymski Pierogies -doing business as Grandma's Cuisine - has issued instigated a voluntary recall on multiple varieties of their frozen cheese-filled pierogies due to allergen concerns.  Milk - which can cause strong allergic reactions for some people - is included in the ingredients but is not declared on the package labeling.

While there haven't been any health concerns or medical issues reported, the company is recalling the product under the guide of caution.  Those allergic to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled frozen food items are sold in one-pound and three-pound plastic bags, under the following brands:

• Grandma's Cuisine
• Bernat's
• Golden Eagle

Due to the wide-spread nature of the recall, there is a large number of varieties and UPC-Code identifiers involved.  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has the complete list of the recalled food items on their website. The one common element that all of the frozen pierogi products have in common is that they were distributed between April 2021 and April 2022.
