Spirit of the Lights is an outdoor light display that originated and was held for years at the home of marcia Hales on Park Point. When she decided that she no longer wanted to do the display she asked Glensheen Mansion if they would take it over which of course they did. I know for myself I had gone out to see the display at the Hales for many years, and it sure made me feel like a kid again.

Lucky this tradition was given to Glensheen who always makes all of their displays so beautiful and with their amazing grounds it seems to be the perfect fit. The display is FREE and open to the public and kicks off Tuesday December 10 from 4-9p. According to Glensheen "The display is celebrated for its intimate and natural feel. Many of the motifs and displays are in memory of individuals or in recognition of meaningful moments. To say this is a uniquely special display is an understatement. And, we can’t thank Marcia enough for choosing Glensheen as the new home for these lights, which have such a storied past."

Free cider and cookies will also be available in keeping with the tradition of the lights display. For more information about this or any events going on at Glensheen click here.
