Glensheen has been welcoming visitors through its doors for over 40 years. For me every time I visit I always discover something new and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now fast forward to present day and more than 3.5 million people have toured Glensheen making it the #1 visited house museum in the Midwest.

The famous Glensheen Mansion in Duluth is celebrating Community Day by offering free Classic self-guided tours this Sunday January 9. This is there way to say Thank You to the community for all the support this past year.

The complimentary Community Day begins at 9:00 am and the last tour entry is at 5:00 pm. Because Classic Tours are self-guided, guests do not need advance tickets, but all guests should check in at the Ticket House when they arrive.

According to a Press Release From Glensheen: "In partnership with the City of Duluth, many attractions that receive tourism tax funding offer these “Community Days,” or days where special discounts are available to the community throughout the year. The intention of these Community Days is so that the community has the chance to attend one of the numerous amazing attractions and experiences found only in Duluth."

Events like this help to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the industry that our community invests in through tourism tax. Other places that have participated in Community Day in the past were Lake Superior Zoo and Spirit Mountain. Now is your turn to get a glimpse of history at this magnificent mansion. What a great excuse to get out of the house and explore all this beautiful home has to offer. Glensheen is located at 3300 London Road in Duluth.
