Free On-Street Parking Through 12/31 In Downtown Duluth

Here's a Christmas gift that's sure to help out at this busy time of the year:  The Greater Downtown Council has partnered with the City of Duluth to offer free on-street parking in the downtown business district through the end of the year.  The move should alleviate parking concerns as shoppers take care of their last-minute lists at local shops and businesses.

Drivers and shoppers are encouraged to take take advantage of the perk - without having to worry about paying at the meters or kiosks through December 31, 2019. According to information released by the Greater Downtown Council, the free on-street parking applies in the following areas:

• Superior Street:  From 8th Avenue East to 6th Avenue West
• First Street:  From 4th Avenue East to 6th Avenue West
• Michigan Street:  From 4th Avenue East to 6th Avenue West
• All avenues between Michigan and First Street - from 3rd Avenue East to 6th Avenue West

In addition, Canal Park has free parking throughout the winter season.
