Additional Information

Learn about exciting careers and earning potential first-hand from professionals in firefighting and truck driving at Lake Superior College's Sept. 24 Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the LSC Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC), 11501 Highway 23, Duluth, MN 55808.

Go for a ride in a semi-truck and get the feel of the road from a professional truck driver's vantage point. With the strong demand for professional truck drivers, job placement from the Lake Superior College trucking program is nearly 100%. Get your commercial driver’s license (CDL) and you can be on the road in as little as seven weeks. Representatives from trucking companies will be on site with their trucks to talk about the profession and earning potential.

Interested in fire-fighting? Get in-depth information about what you need for skills, aptitude and physical fitness to become a fire fighter. Talk with experienced fire fighters about their on-the-job experiences. Tour LSC's firefighting facilities, including practice burn box areas, and suit up with turn-out gear.

LSC's fleet of fire trucks, emergency vehicles and truck trailers will be on display with faculty and students providing tours of facilities and equipment. Advisors will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about financial aid, transfer, and other service areas.
