Duluth’s Island Lake Inn Temporarily Closed

Update: the Island Lake Inn has reopened as of Monday, August 10th. 

Another restaurant has shut its doors until further notice due to COVID-19. Duluth's Island Lake Inn is the latest to do so, after learning an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The restaurant shared the news on their Facebook page, writing the following about the closure:

We have unfortunately received news of a staff member that has tested positive for Covid. The staff member in question had not worked for 3 days before the symptoms began. We are waiting for advice from the Minnesota Health Department on how we should proceed. We will be closing our doors until at least Friday (8/8) evening, as this is 14 days since the employee in question has worked. Please look to our Facebook page for updates.

The restaurant shared an update Friday (August 7th), writing that they have been given permission to reopen and are hoping to reopen on Monday, August 10th.We will continue to keep you updated.

In the comments section of the Facebook post announcing the temporary closure, the restaurant says they are following any and all leads from the health department.

Island Lake Inn is located at 7153 Rice Lake Road in Duluth. They are known for their delicious breakfast and other menu staples like stuffed tater tots, fish sandwich and wraps.

The Island Lake Inn is also just one of many restaurants that have had to close lately after an employee contracts COVID-19. The Duluth Grill also announced they would be shutting their doors around the same time and for the same reason. Grandma's Saloon & Grill in Canal Park was also forced to shut down, among other eateries in the area.
