Duluth Police To Hold Memorial For Fallen K9 Haas
The Duluth Police Department will be holding a memorial service to honor fallen K9 Haas. On January 25th, at 3 p.m. at the DECC - Harborside Ballroom
Haas was wounded in the line of duty while responding to a domestic assault with a weapon. He was transported to the emergency vet hospital, where he later died. K9 handler, Officer Aaron Haller, was also wounded in the incident.
K9 Haas served with handler Officer Aaron Haller for two years. K9 Haas showed exemplary discipline and outstanding tracking skills. During one of his initial certification classes on narcotics detection, he finished with the top score in the class: 199.67 out of 200. At the USPCA regional trials, he placed first in criminal apprehension out of more than 100 teams.
