Following a committee process that took almost a full year, the general public will get their first look at the Protective Gear Policy for the Duluth Police Department at a presentation scheduled for Monday, February 3 at Denfeld High School.  That's when the Duluth Police Policy Working Group will formally present the policy to Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken - and the general public - at 6:00 PM.

The group met for 10 months, holding 12 meetings, and over 30 total hours of discussion to formulate the policy.  20 core members of the community comprised the group that was tasked with creating a new policy.  Working group meetings created goals that met the needs of those that were involved, researched similar policies from across the country, in addition to exploring scenarios where using the gear would be a possibility.

At the presentation, members of the community are invited to ask questions of the policy group.
