Duluth Police Officer Injured & His K9 Killed In Action
Yet another sad story to start off 2019 in the Twin Ports. The Duluth Police Department was responding to a domestic assault with a weapon call in the 1000 block of West Skyline Parkway. They found enough evidence for a felony arrest, and located the male in the home and tried to negotiate with him. After about an hour, the suspect opened fire on the police. Officer Aaron Haller was struck by a bullet and sufferend non life threatening injuries. His K9 partner Haas was killed by gunfire.
Officers were able to gain access to the room where the suspect was and found him deceased. Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken had the following statement on Facebook:
