Duluth Police K9 Recipient Of Body Armor Donation
One of Duluth's police officers will be a little more protected the next time they're out on a call. The Duluth Police Department is sharing the fact that K9 Luna will be the recipient of a donation that will provide for a customized vest that is bullet and stab-protective.
The donation comes from an agency that funnels funds to police departments - especially those with K9 officers. The non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. will pay for the vest - which is estimated to cost between $ $1,744 – $2,283. This particular vest that K9 Luna will receive will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Haas, Duluth Police Department, MN”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.
There is an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provides information, lists events, and accepts tax-deductible donations of any denomination at www.vik9s.org or mailed to P.O. Box 9 East Taunton, MA 02718.
