Duluth Heights Community Club Closes It’s Doors
I grew up in Duluth Heights and have many memories of that building, this past week Duluth closed it for good.
Here's the press release:
Duluth Heights Community Center is one of our cities most active rental and programming spaces. The building is very old and the roof has been leaking, which has made the interior rental spaces in the facility unsafe for use by the public. We regret to announce that due to the roof of the building has reached the end of its useful life, the City of Duluth has closed the main floor rental area. Any groups that have an existing reservation will be contacted by Parks and Recreation to find an alternate location. Hockey will remain in the basement level of the building. The building needs in this location will be looked at in the 2020 Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan.
One of the active programs, Play Gym, will no longer be meeting as we examine the program and determine the best location for it long term. Please watch for more information on our website and Facebook page.
