Downtown Duluth Gets Ready For UMD Homecoming Fun

Organizers are anticipating one of the largest crowds ever for the UMD Bulldogs annual Homecoming Parade - Thursday, October 8 starting at 6:00 PM. The event coincides with the 2015 Homecoming festivities.

The official route is along the waterfront area on Superior Street - between First Avenue west and 4th Avenue West. The parade itself is expected to last an hour.

Officials invite everyone to come out and line the sidewalks along the parade route. Wear maroon and gold or Bulldog apparel to show your team spirit.

There will also be other activities tied to homecoming at the same time. Pet owners, make sure you check out the details for The Mutt Strut, which will help raise money for the Lake County Humane Society. Art lovers are encouraged to check out the works on display throughout the downtown area and to catch a glimpse of Enger Tower - which will be lit up in UMD colors all week long.

After the parade, the official afterparty happens at Dubb Linns' - with food and drink specials and the music of The Fractals.
