A Douglas County Sheriff's squad car was rear-ended in an accident that occurred this morning on US Highway 2 near Poplar.  The squad was already pulled over to the side of the roadway while the deputy was assisting a disabled vehicle.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's website, a Jeep was struck from behind by an Explorer pickup truck it slowed down as it approached the scene.  The Jeep rolled over in to the ditch as a result of the rear-ending.  Meanwhile, the Explorer also struck the parked squad, sending it from the shoulder into the ditch.

Only minor injuries were reported.  Authorities are currently investigating the accident.
