Douglas County recently conducted drive thru COVID-19 testing in Solon Springs. They offered the test to anyone in the county who was experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus that include a cough, sore throat, fatigue, headache, shortness of breath, or difficult breathing.

171 tests were administered, and 0 people tested positive for the virus. Of the 171 people tested, 129 were from Douglas County. The rest of the people who showed up for testing were from nearby counties. The most represented age group that came for testing were 50-79 years old.

In a press release, the Douglas County Public Health Department did announce a new COVID-19 case in the county bringing the total number of cases to 11. The person who tested positive was exposed to the virus at work, and is now at home recovering.

They do plan to administer more tests in the next few weeks. The health department will publish information about the tests and locations on the Western WI Public Health Readiness Consortium webpage.

Overall in the county there have been 783 negative cases, 11 positive cases, and 5 probable cases. 12 people have fully recovered and no longer require isolation per the CDC guidelines. A map shows where the positive tests have occurred in Douglas County, and they include the City of Superior, South Superior, and Lake Nebagamon. To protect the privacy of those individuals, the county will not release addresses of infected people.
