Dog Shot To Death In Central Minnesota, Video Of Crime Surfaces
This is absolutely terrible. Warning: the details of this story are graphic.
The Wadena County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that took place on February 17th. Authorities received a report that a dog had been found dead in an area campground, surrounded by shell casings.
To make matters worse, after the dog was found, law enforcement started receiving calls stating that a video of the crime was making its way around the internet.
The Office put out a press release detailing the case, posted on their Facebook page Thursday:
As reported in the press release, the police followed up with the names attached to the video. They didn't say whether or not an arrest or a connection was made.
KARE 11 reports that the video was made by a pair of siblings after the dog "nipped at a family member" and that it is indeed the same dog in question.
According to the Wadena County Sheriff's Office, the case is "under investigation" and they are working with the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley to further the case. No other information on the matter was given.
Wadena, Minnesota is about three hours west of Duluth.
I won't get into too many of the details of the crime or the video because they are disturbing but I do hope that whoever did this is brought to justice.
