Do You Hate Backyard Bonfires?

I recently stumbled across a post from another blogger who raised the issue of backyard bonfires.  In the article, the blogger postulates that fire pits in the city limits are an invasion of a neighbors privacy.

In other words, let's say you don't want to have a wood fire in your backyard - but your neighbors do.  Technically, they can do what they want on their own property - but - the odor of the wood smoke drifts into their home.

Do you have a backyard fire pit?  Does your neighbor have one?  What are your thoughts on the right to have a fire in your yard - or your right not to have to smell your neighbors smoke.
