Did You Know There Is Now A High Ropes Course Just South Of Duluth?
For people in the Twin Ports area that want to have some fun and challenge themselves with an outdoor high ropes course, a new option is set to hold their grand opening on June 12 just south of Duluth.
Up until news of this new high ropes course in Scanlon opening up, the closest option has been North Shore Adventure Park in Silver Bay, or making a trip down toward the Twin Cities or Brainerd area. Now there is a place within a matter of minutes for residents and tourists alike that want to hit the ropes!
The business is called High Ropes Minnesota, which is actually a sister company to Swiftwater Adventures, which has offered whitewater rafting experiences along the St. Louis River since 2014.
The website for High Ropes Minnesota explains their course as a 5 pole course with 12 elements on two levels. Some of the things their course features include a pipe traverse, lily pads, Burma bridge, swinging vines, Indiana Jones bridge, and something they call the X-cape. They say that the mission of the course is to "supply an aerial adventure to everyone, no experience necessary" to anyone 8 years of age and older within the weight limits window of 35 pounds minimum and 275 pounds maximum.
The ropes course experience includes a 15-minute ground school session and then a 90-minute timeframe to hit the course. The course is right along the St. Louis River, just off the Scanlon exit on Interstate 35.
As I mentioned off the top, the grand opening is June 12, but as of the time of this post, they do have available booking times for Friday, June 11 through the afternoon as well. The course will offer the opportunity to hit the ropes through the summer, with the last available booking dates listed on their site as of the time of this post being Sunday, September 5.
