Denfeld Robotics Win Quality Award At Seven Rivers Regional Meet
Duluth Denfeld Robotics Team (DNA Team 4009) competed at the Seven Rivers Regional Meet in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and brought home their second award of the year.
This was the second regional for the team. During the qualification matches, the Denfeld Robotics' robot Davious placed 9th out of 46 teams and had a win/loss record of 7-4-0.
The team was involved in an alliance and was named captain to choose other teams to join them. They chose BadgerBots Team 1306 from Middleton, Wisconsin, and Sir Lancer Bots Team 2977 from La Crescent, Minnesota.
During the playoffs, Duluth Denfeld (DNA) battled the third-place alliance team and became the only upset in the quarterfinals. Moving on, DNA took on the second place alliance team, but unfortunately couldn't overcome them and were defeated 2-1. That was the only loss that they had in the whole tournament.
DNA was awarded the Quality Award which "Celebrates Machine Robustness In Concept and Fabrication" DNA says they won the award because of the way they were able to describe how their design ensured robustness throughout the entire competition.
DNA said one of the reasons they did so well was because of teamwork and they chose wisely for alliance partners, BadgerBots and Sirlancer Bots, in the final matches. DNA said it was the teamwork of all the teams that brought the success they had at the regionals.
