The Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ Finally Appears Online
A few weeks after the trailer first premiered in theaters in front of Hobbs & Shaw, we’re finally getting our first online look at Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. At the moment, it’s just a French version of the teaser (which, based on descriptions, appears to be the same one that played in theaters earlier in August). But that’s what Google Translate is for, right?
Here’s the one-minute teaser, featuring John David Washington, who’s the protagonist of the film:
(UPDATE: The video was taken down. When a new version is posted, we’ll share it.)
The French title cards read:
The time has come for a new protagonist. The time has come for new missions.
I assume you can figure out the Christopher Nolan and John David Washington parts for yourself; the end invites you to see it in IMAX, or in 70mm in some theaters.
The plot of the movie is still unknown, but in addition to Washington, the film also stars Robert Pattison, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Michael Caine. Feel free to speculate exactly what the title refers to, or what it has to do with a new protagonist or new missions. Could it have something to do with a previous Christopher Nolan movie? Why else focus on the fact that it’s a new character and new missions?
There’s also a new official site for the film as well. It’s sparse at the moment but it does have a cool swirling Tenet logo:
Tenet opens in theaters on July 17, 2020.
