Checking Out The Rustic Olive To Expand Our Cooking Techniques

Cooking with fresh herbs and using what I thought were great oils from the grocery store had me wishing for more. Then I remembered about the rustic olive. The Rustic Olive is 'Duluth's ONLY Premium Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar bar' according to their Facebook page.

Looking online they have a sparse Facebook page and a website that is not currently up. What they do have is an incredible supply of fresh oils and vinaigrette’s, all of which you can sample. The staff is quite knowledgeable and I learned that their oils can be cooked at a higher temperature than that of the store-bought. Their tinted bottles also make the oils able to last up to a year. Not that I can imagine a bottle of any of their oils would take that long to use.

We ended up picking up Herbs de Provence, it was wild with fresh basil and oregano rosemary. The taste and aroma lingered in the back of my pallet and invaded my senses. We’ve used it with our fresh chicken breasts marinated, and also the small red potatoes. I believe my next meal will be fish so back to the shop we will go.

It was a very fun experience to go to the store. I like that if you bring your bottles back clean you get a dollar off your next purchase. They also have a loyalty perks program. We certainly have a gem right here for our cooking enjoyment.
