CASDA Turns Their NYE “Behind the Masks” Into Virtual Gala
The Center Against Sexual & Domestic Abuse (CASDA) had to come up with a new plan in order to still have the awareness and continue fundraising.
They realized by going virtual they can make it FREE to attend, and you can take part from the comfort of your home. You can dress up in masquerade attire, or dress down in whatever you find comfortable.
According to a press release, and their website, there will be a Silent Auction, Mask Contest, CASDA updates, Music, a Cocktail-making demo by the Spirit Room staff, and more!
Jill Hinners CASDA Community Engagement Coordinator said to me they hope its a big event because "all the funds raised go to CASDA's services, which include an emergency shelter for adults and kids fleeing abuse (serving the greater Twin Ports and NW Wisconsin), a children's program, a legal program, public education program, campus-based sexual assault services, and more."
All you have to do is sign on with your computer, mobile device, or any device you can get on the internet with on December 31, from 5:30 to 7 pm. The auction however will be open Tuesday 12/29 at noon and close New Year’s Eve, 12/31, at 8 pm.
Jill said as part of the event there will be take-home party kits for adults 21+ and can be preordered HERE. There will also be family-friendly New Year’s Eve kits soon.
Jill Hinners also said that Vintage Hairstyle Tutorials will be offered Wednesdays at 8 pm, December 9th, 16th & 23rd, by Twin Ports Pinup. A weekly CASDA program video spotlight will be posted to the CASDA YouTube channel and featured on the home page of the BidCoz auction site. Also, a virtual Restorative New Year’s Day Event hosted by Rooted in Wellness.
Jill said they are hoping to raise $10,000 by the end of the year to help their programming and services. If you would like to donate you can click here.
