Winter is coming ... for Captain America, anyway. As we enter the year filled with such anticipated titles as 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' 'Godzilla' and 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,' Empire Magazine has debuted its latest cover featuring new images from the next installment in Marvel's buzzing superhero universe -- 'Captain America 2.'

Officially titled 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' 'Captain America 2' brings back Chris Evans' red-white-and-blue-shielded warrior with an unnaturally straight moral arrow, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson's Agent Nick Fury and (play the sinister music, please) Sebastian Stan as a genetically enhanced and brainwashed Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier.

While the film draws its material from the classic comic book arc of the same name, 'Captain America 2' is also said to tie in to the upcoming 'Avengers 2' more so than any other standalone superhero film. From the official Marvel synopsis:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

'Captain America 2' also features Robert Redford as a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. official and Frank Grillo as Crossbones, and hits theaters this coming April 4. Until then, check out the latest issue of Empire Magazine, which is kicks off its 25th birthday year!
