Historically, the weeks around Memorial Day can be some of the highest for automobile accidents.  With the large number of vehicles on the road, drivers need to do all they can to be proactive.

As they have in years past, law enforcement agencies have banded together to promote seat belt use with a Click It Or Ticket campaign - running May 22-June 4.  From city police to state troopers, law enforcement officers will be out in full force looking for drivers and passengers who aren't wearing their seat belts.  Part of their work is a component of the State of Minnesota's Toward Zero Deaths program - which seeks to reduce crashes through education, enforcement, engineering, and emergency trauma response.

Wearing a seat belt is the law in Minnesota and officers can stop and ticket unbelted drivers or passengers.
