Minnesota and Wisconsin Rank in Top 10 of Bicycle-Friendly States
It's no secret to people that live in Minnesota and Wisconsin that both states offer plenty of bicycle opportunities for road/trail style and mountain bike riders. That said, how do they rank compared to the rest of the country? The League of American Bicyclists released their 2015 report card for bike friendliness, and Minnesota and Wisconsin both scored pretty well.
Washington grabbed the top spot on the report card, with Minnesota coming in second and Wisconsin following at ninth best in the country. Using key metrics like bike-friendly legislation, political support, trails/other infrastructure, and bike education, Minnesota posted a score of 63 out of 100 possible points, and Wisconsin posted a 52 out of 100. For the record, neither of these are far off from Washington's score of 66.
