You may want to check your refrigerator or freezer.  The United States Department of Agriculture has issued an alert that US Foods - an Alabama-based manufacturer - has issued a voluntary recall on their beef and pork products.  Currently the recall is affecting customers in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

The concern is product contamination.  After processing, an employee discovered that they may have cut themselves, contaminating the production lot.  The ground beef in question was produced on July 18, 2019 and bears the establishment number "EST. 21103".

At the present time, there have been no known reports of adverse reactions due to the issue.  The recall is being performed on the error of caution.

Customers who may have concerns are urged to contact the USDA - available in a variety of ways.  Consumers with food safety questions can "Ask Karen," the FSIS virtual representative available 24 hours a day at AskKaren.gov.
