A brand of baby food that's manufactured by a Minnesota-based company and sold at Walmart is part of a voluntary nationwide recall. The concern is high levels of inorganic arsenic found in test samples of the product.

At the present time, there have been no known medical issues or illness reported with the recalled product. Additionally - while high, the levels of inorganic arsenic are "in compliance with the FDA's guidelines".  That's because the "FDA has recognized that trace elements such as these are widely present in the environment, including water, soil, and food".  The recall is based off the belief that "reducing exposure to toxic elements is important to minimizing any potential long-term effects on the developing brains of infants and children".

According to details released by the United States Food and Drug Administration, Maple Island, Inc. is recalling three lots of it's Parent's Choice Rice Baby Cereal.  The recall affects Walmart stores nationwide as well as their online store.
