The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency is continuing their free refrigerated food distributions on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The food is available at multiple locations across the arrowhead region including communities in Virginia, Cotton, Lake Vermilion, Nett Lake, Cloquet, and International Falls.

The distributed food includes produce, dairy, meat, and 2% milk. It's available to families who make 300% of the federal poverty limit, or also have a need due to COVID-19. The distributed food is available by funding by Farmers to Families and will continue weekly until the end of the year. It's available on a first come, first serve basis.

Here's the schedule for this afternoon.

  • Virginia at the AEOA 702 3rd Ave S -1:30pm
  • Vermilion Government Center 1610 Farm Point Rd S - 1:30pm
  • Nett Lake at Bois Forte Government Center 5344 Lakeshore Drive - 2pm
  • Cotton Old School Lives 9165 Highway 53 - 2pm
  • Cloquet - B&B Market 506 Big Lake Rd - 2:30pm
  • International Falls - Rainy River Community College 1501 Highway 71 - 3pm

They ask that you do not arrive more than 15 minutes before the time of distribution. They also would like to wear a mask when you are communicating with the volunteers. The box of food will be placed in your vehicle by volunteers through an open window.

There was a distribution event planned for Deer River today, but that has been cancelled. The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency encourages you to frequently check their Facebook page for the most up to date information on distributions.
