The Duluth Area got its first Ronald McDonald house.

Just about everyone knows how a Ronald McDonald House provides support and a place to stay for families of child patients. The Ronald McDonald House Northland is located on the fourth floor of Essentia Health's Fifth Avenue Building (503 East Third Street).

The Construction of the house began last Summer. It features 5 private bedrooms, a full kitchen, a family room, a stocked pantry, a laundry area, and more. The families are fed 9 times a week which includes, dinner each night, and brunch on the weekends.

When a child is being treated and they are from outside the Duluth area it is a financial burden to get a hotel and pay for all those meals, get clean clothes, and so many other things. By offering a comfortable family living area it takes a huge load off their minds while they are there to support their child.
