30-Pound Boxes Of Food Again To Be Given Away at the DECC
Last month, the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center hosted an event where organizations worked together to hand out free 30-pound boxes of food. On Thursday, March 25, they're doing it again.
The City of Duluth posted the official announcement on their Facebook page:
This Thursday, 30-pound boxes of food will be given away for free at the DECC - Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center for as long as supplies last. The load of food is provided by the Duluth Building and Construction Trades Council, North East Area Labor Council, and UFCW Local 1189.
The giveaway begins at 11:30 a.m. This is a drive-thru pickup. Please plan accordingly.
Huge thanks to the unions for bringing this to Duluth for those who need it. We are #DuluthProud of you!

Organizers are expected to hand out 2,600 boxes of food Thursday. If you're in need of assistance, or know of an area family who is, please share this this information. This is another terrific effort by all involved to help the community through what continues to be troubled times for many Northland families.
As was the case last month, this will be a drive-thru event. Please have a mask handy to protect those helping to facilitate the giveaway. Also, please have your vehicle ready to efficiently transport a 30-pound box of food.
The giveaway will be available as for as long as it takes to distribute the 2,600 pounds of food. When this event was held last month the response was amazing, with vehicles lined up well ahead of the 11:30 a.m. start time. It's recommended that those looking to participate on March 25 get there early.
