School-age children from around the Northland will be the focus of the 23rd annual Make A Difference Conference - scheduled for Monday, February 12 at Fortune Bay Resort in Tower.  Approximately 360 students in grades 9-12 from Duluth and the Iron Range will take part in the half-day session that offers inspiration and networking opportunities for our future leaders.

Eight different workshops will be offered between the hours of 9:15 AM and 2:00 PM; topics include sessions on resiliency, positive thinking, coping skills, the benefits of giving back, basic first aid, healthy eating in college, applying music to fun and play, and tips to make the school day easier. Students from different high schools will make presentations and the Keynote Speaker is Rick Gertsema - a licensed psychologist and manager of Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health at Essentia Health Duluth.
