Now for an update we first reported on this past spring; Duluth Pack was able to plant more than 2,300 trees as a result of their "Buy A Pack, We Give Back" promotion.  The long-time Duluth retailer came up with the plan as a way to celebrate Arbor Day back in April of this year.

During the month-long promotion, Duluth Pack invited customers in to buy one of their hand-crafted items and have a tree planted for each item sold.  That tree planting recently happened - with more than 2,300 trees seeded into the ground in Cromwell - just west of Duluth.

In all, 23 acres of Red Maple seedlings were planted.  The variety of tree was chosen for it's ability to grow successfully in our region and soil composition.  Duluth Pack partnered with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the event.

According to  Tom Sega - Duluth Pack President - the event fit well with the mission of the company:

"There is truthfully nothing more rewarding than giving back and making a difference. A priority of ours at Duluth Pack is encouraging our customers to get out and connect with the outdoors more than ever. The Future Forest Fund has helped us engage with the community and individuals to fulfill our mission of maintaining Minnesota’s wilderness areas so that everyone has a place to adventure."
