The Teddy Bridgewater era is officially here. The Minnesota Vikings announced their weekly roster moves today, which included quarterback Matt Cassel being placed on injured reserve, ending his 2014 season. The foot injury that sidelined Cassel came in the first half of the game against the Saints in New Orleans last weekend.

Following this news from the team, Teddy Bridgewater's tenure as the starting quarterback will start at TCF Bank Stadium this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. The 32nd overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft went 12 of 20, passing for 150 yards against the Saints in relief of Cassel in his first regular season appearance.

Other roster moves announced include guard Brandon Fusco being placed on IR following an injury in the Saints game. Tight end Chase Ford has been brought to the active roster from the practice squad in place of the injured Kyle Rudolph and Austin Wentworth was moved to the active roster to fill a hole left by Fusco.

The Vikings also added two players to the practice squad, bringing in tight end Ryan Otten and a familiar quarterback in McLeod Bethel-Thompson also rejoins the Vikings organization after serving as a third-stringer in a previous stint with the team.
